What do your funders want to see on your web site?

Sometimes it’s better to start with a blank slate than to fix what is already there. That’s certainly the case with a current web revamp project for a small charity. Aside from their address and phone number, there is absolutely nothing on the old site worth moving over to the new.

Like many Scottish charities, they were founded at a time when funders’ money was easy, guaranteed, and unconditional. That certainly is not the case now. Fortunately, the charity’s Directors understand that their new web site needs to work on their behalf to prove to their funders, every day, that their work achieves value for money and gets results.

I’ve encouraged the charity’s officers to take fifteen minutes to watch this very helpful video, which is part of the Be Good Be Social series, to help them understand what they need to do with their new web site after I hand it over to them. You might be surprised at what this funder has to say.
