A charity wanted to know the maximum number of pages I would allow them to have on the web site I intended to build for them.
The answer is, there is no page limit. Your web site can have five pages, fifty pages, five hundred pages, or five thousand pages. It is your choice.
Most web site “package deals” will limit you to a certain number of pages – usually five, perhaps ten at a stretch.
Your web site has to meet your project’s needs, not confirm to a web designer’s limitations. With a restricted package deal, your web site isn’t actually about you: it’s about the web designer, and the things they aren’t willing to do for you.
I will build you a flexible web site which will allow you to add as many pages and news updates as you need. And I will train you to do this yourself, any time you need, with complete confidence. After all, it’s not about me: it’s about you.
Cheap and limited package web sites are acceptable stopgaps for businesses and charities which are just starting up or have no budget. But when you are ready to grow, expand, or compete on a level playing field for income or donations and grants, you need to prove that you regard your work as a viable business concern. You can’t do that with a cheap web site which someone else controls.
