Web Site Launch Checklist – Updated
Updated for 2009 – new checklist available below!
There are dozens of tasks to remember when launching a site, ranging from favicons to file permissions to follow-up. Inevitably, you end up doing four tasks at once and the details can get lost in the exhilarating rush to get that project out of the way.
To help keep the site launch process on track, I have created my own site launch checklist which tallies the “business side” of a new site’s launch. And in the spirit of the Printable CEO checklists and trackers which surround my workspace, I have made the checklist available on a 3-up A4 PDF download free of charge for you to use.
Site Launch Checklist 2009 Edition (.pdf, 920 kb)
Please note that the checklist assumes that you have already performed all of the final technical checks on your site and that the client has approved the site for launch. If you are looking for checklists to help you get through those technical steps, I highly recommend the book Deliver First Class Web Sites: 101 Essential Checklists.
Please leave some feedback if you find this checklist useful.

Hey, just came across your site while reading up on others checklists for wordpress. Just wanted to announce my premium wordpress plugin called http://www.wpsitelaunch.com which incorporates user ready to do lists functionality so that people can create their own checklists (or to do lists), save them, and export them to share with others who use the same plugin.
Thought it would be a neat take on a sub-basecamp style plugin

David, that looks like a really interesting plugin. It will be a real help to people who are a little better on the design side than the admin side!
